Dear publisher,
It’s that time of year again where CRIMEFEST imposes on your good nature and generosity and asks you whether you are able to provide books for:
- the CRIMEFEST delegate bags
- the Big Library Crime Book Giveaway.
If I have sent this to the wrong contact, my apologies. Would you be able to pass it along to the right person for me?
CRIMEFEST DELEGATE BAGS
For the CRIMEFEST delegate bags we are seeking around 100 books per publisher. Obviously the amount is not set in stone and we appreciate any that you can supply.
They can be paperbacks, hardbacks and/or advance reading copies, and donations of both mixed or the same titles are welcome.
Should you wish to avoid providing books by participating authors, you can visit www.crimefest.com/authors-delegates/#authors for details of who is attending. (Delegates are less likely to buy books by participating authors if they receive one of their titles in the delegate bag.)
Please let me know by 14 April whether you are able to help and, if so, with details of titles and quantities.
It would be helpful if you could ensure that the books arrive between 10 – 30 April. The address to send them to is:

BIG LIBRARY CRIME BOOK GIVEAWAY
What is the Big Library Crime Book Giveaway? Think World Book Night in support of Britain’s endangered libraries. And, for its third year, CRIMEFEST has teamed up with the Crime Writers’ Association to use the event as the start of May’s National Crime Reading Month. On Saturday 5 May, readers are invited to pick up a crime novel from multiple library branches in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow and Tyne and Wear.
Midas PR will be sending out a national press release regarding the promotion and participating titles and publishers. Libraries in the participating cities will also be publicising the event.
Please note that publishers are only able to participate in the Big Library Crime Book Giveaway if they provide books for the CRIMEFEST delegate bags.
For the Big Library Crime Book Giveaway we are seeking around 250 books per publisher. Again, the amount is not set in stone and we appreciate any that you can supply.
They can be paperbacks, hardbacks and/or advance reading copies, and donations of both mixed or the same titles are welcome.
Please let me know a.s.a.p. whether you are able to help and, if so, with details of titles and quantities. We will then provide you with the contact details for the organising library in each of the four cities.
Your contributions will need to arrive no later than 25 April.
With best wishes,
Mike Stotter,
CRIMEFEST Books Liaison Officer
